my xbox has been softmodded for about a month now and recently its been acting up. freezing way to much, almost all the time. sometimes i get a hdd timeout error.
but during the past three days i had brought my xbox over to a friends house, and everytime i had plugged my xbox into there power it had shut everything off in that room inc. (tv, cable box, stereo system etc.) what im thinking is maybe i have some electricity overload, and im afraid that my hard drive may have gotten shocked really good. My red jewel light i have on top also flickers now, which it has never done before.
what could this possibly be caused by?

was getting a solid error 08 for 4 boots straight, then evox loaded magically.

error 13 for 2 boots, now evox loaded but is running at about 5 frames per second, really slow.

Is the hdd making funny noises? It may be dead. Now would be a good time to back your stuff up if you still have ftp access. _________________

this hard drive is maybe a month old, its a brand new 300 gig seagate. im thinking it may have something to do with my xbox not getting enough power, because i tryed a different power cord and every boot im getting error 07 im going to try to stick my hard drive into my computer in a little bit i think. just to see what happens.

you prolly are right, i went back to the old power cord and i get a error 07 every boot, this is where im going to stick it into my computer. ill update in about 15 minutes.

I found that it was my Y splitter that powers my jewel, everytime i booted my drive without it it boots flawlessly. so i guess i am going to have to get a new one of those. if i have anymore problems ill post them.

is it ok if my hard drive is loud when its loading. because when i play DOOM 3 it constantly spins and is loud crazy loud. would this be a sign of anything?
