Ok I got the emulator for N64 games (Surreal64 XXX) and I'm having some trouble. Everytime I try to load a game it will ask me which program do I want to use (1964, PJ64, or UltraHLE) If I chose UltraHLE then it will immediately start loading the ROM but it still takes forever for it to load the ROM and the other two, after i click them, ask which video plugin (Rice 5.10, Rice 5.31, Rice 5.60, or rice 6.11) I have only used this emulator a couple times (once on UltraHLE which I didn't bother to let load, and once on 1964 with Rice 5.60 which took forever to load also) and I really want it to load the games faster so could someone please help me! Thanks

Theres really isnt any way to speed up the loading. You just have to accept that this is how it is. _________________

If you add the extra 64 MB of ram on a 1.0-1.5 xbox it will load roms faster. _________________

Adding extra ram to your xbox is not easy and definatly not recomended unless your a master with a soldering iron. Its also not neccesary. and no you wouldnt need to do anything with the hdd. _________________

An extra 64Mb would just be a waste and like BG said, it isn't easy.
I always find for most of the games I have on Surreal64, the 1964 engine is the better one to use. The only game I use the UltraHLE engine for, is Mario World 64. Everything else I use 1964. My ROM's load within about 2 secs.

Which video plugin do you use? Also, does it matter if your xbox HD only has like 14 MB of space on it? (I am getting a new HD so I won't have to worry about it just want to know if its the problem) _________________ .---------------.

Like BG says, the ROM's don't need space on the HDD to run, so I wouldn't worry about that. As for my settings, all of my video settings are set to the defaults for each engine.
If in doubt as to what they are, uninstall and reinstall Surreal64 and that will set them all back for you.
