Your kidding? I thought it was some mini boss from the NES Mega man series...
So yeah, I'm not exactly giving up as much as I want to make sure I don't mess the thing up too badly. I'll probably just reassess whats actually causing the problems and hopefully find a way around it. The funny thing is it seems like everything works just fine, everything is functional, I just don't get any usability out of the dashboard. Like I said, I can use the backup eeprom function to boot into the sid menu, and from there I can run all my XBE files, including ftp applications, which I'm sure I could get to work with a little more troubleshooting. But still, I would rather have a working xbox than a modified brick. ;P
It might be a little bit easier if I could just find out why it boots from "c:/Sid/Rescue/"... anybody know why it would be booting from there? Maybe instead of troubleshooting I should have been googling for that...
"Look everybody, I modified my firmware!"
"Whats it do now?"
"I bricked it. See, you can stack stuff on top of it now. I'll call it the XTable."

It could be that the splinter cell game, being platinum, is somehow corrupting the game save so that it won't load anything on linux... just a thought. _________________ .---------------.

My Famous Words:
Don't Mock The Magnum
It's all pretty strange. Has anyone ever reported an error like mine?
I think I'll go back to basics.
I have MD Dashboard 5690, and
I used Splinter Cell Platinum Edition with Sid 5.1
I installed the softmod, everything seemed alright, until I got to the main menu of unleashx, which had loaded from C:/Sid/Rescue/.
There were no options on the menu, however I could press the X button to load into the backup EEPROM screen and from there go to main menu to load
the Sid 5.1 menu. I can run Aid, and at the moment my xbox is running a clean version of MS DASH. My E: drive has a good 1.5 gbs used up on it, due to the amount of times I've tried to install these apps and dashboards via AID, and I'm afraid to format that due to the danger of losing some of my saves, though if push comes to shove I can always use my usb flashdrive to store all the important ones.
