hi all just a quick question (or two) i have finally decided to soft mod , i have read lots of tutorials ,i have the auto installer and soft mod installer software and i'm just waiting for my action replay to arrive in the post my question is what are the chances of making a big black xbox shaped paper weight as opposed to a nice modded console ? and do the files that i transfer to my memory card stay rar'ed or do i unrar them first

As long as you dont do something stupid like format your C: partition or delete things you shouldn't (dashboard files). Inside of the SID file there are .zip files that go with whatever game you'll be using to softmod. Just copy the .zip file to C:\Program Files\Datel\Action Replay XBOX\Saves. or wherever you install the action replay software. _________________

You want to keep the gamesaves in .rar format when transferring saves. Also, you dont need to find where your action replay is, just open action replay up. Then drag the softmods files to that window and it will put it in by itself. Also if you follow the tuts, then it will go fine. Also if you do break it, softmodding can be fixed, its hard modding stuff that can't sometimes. _________________

aahh... The original exploit I downloaded came as a .rar with the .zips inside. The new version that comes with AID comes as individual .zip files. _________________
