I just recently ordered the HyperX Solderless Chip, and I would also like to upgrade the HD in my XBOX while I am at it. Is there a certain type of HD tha I should be looking for? I was thinking of putting in a 250 or 300gb Drive that is not too expensive.
I plan on using the installer on this site once I get things up and running. I am new to this and would appreciate any answers.
Thanks

check the lockable drive database before buying as some disks do not support ATA locking.

If your getting a chip dont worry about getting a lockable drive, because mod chips run unlocked drives. Only buy a lockable one if you want to be able to boot the normal bios or play on live. It must be locked to play on live. Also make sure the HDD has a ATA interface, not a SATA. I made that mistake when i bought my first drive _________________
Thanks, I have a 360 and am going to be using the XBOX as a Media Center because my Media Center PC just went kaput on me. I just wanted to make sure there wasnt a special type of hard drive I needed to put into the box.

at the top of the scree, there is a tab called harddrives. click that, and it will give you a list of lockable drives. _________________

Thanks, I am just confused about the whole deal right now. I checked the list of hard drives on this site and the largest one is 80gigs which is less than what I want.
I will just buy one of the IDE drives and Hope for the Best.
