I just started getting into using modchips to recover xboxs with a failed hdd, and im really confused now. Ive done tons of softmods using aid and sid. Im using the DuoX2 Cromwell/Flashbios White chip. Its installed correctly, and im booting Flashbios Screen ( Xbox is a 1.0 ) I have the M8 bios and editied it using Evtool. (I made it the 512mb) I saved it as BIOS.bin, and then a dummy file to throw on the dvd with it. Tried flashing the chip from the CD and its just telling me theres no update found. Im really confused about all of this stuff, So i have a few questions. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
Ive been reading tutorials/forums all day today and i just cant catch on for some reason. SO heres my questions.
When I finally do succesfully do the flash, Im flashing the Mod CHip right? Not the bios on the actual xbox? Is there a way to do a tsop flash while the chip is installed, and then puill the chip? Can i flash my xbox bios with the chip, and then pull the chip out and still run the hacked bios? Or is that the same question i just asked? Is this Eurasia disc only needed on 1.6 ?Whats the easiest method to flash a chip? Should this have been posted in the Modchip Forum? if so let me know and ill repost there.I tried the http method but i couldnt get a connection with the xbox. Alright i think this is enough for now! Thanks again guys.

What kind of disc are u useing a CD-R or DVD ones i think dvd-r are really good to use and i usually put a 1000mb dummy file on the disc with the the bios that u are flashing with. Ever since that i really dont have a problem flashing chips witha dvd-r i got the dummy file program on www.download.com key search dummyfile creator or something like that or just put 2 500mb dummy files on with the disc. i always had problems with them on cd-r's and that so try that on dvd-r. _________________ The one the only Scarface!!

Ive tried a few different types of DVD+R, which i make all of my backups on, and have never had a problem. Is there an easier method?

try flashing with the network, i have never had a problem wit that!
Ok so i flashed the 2nd bank of the Duo chip, in case i screwed up. I think i I did it right, as the Evox logo pops up in the corner. It goes as far as the X logo, and then thats it. I tried putting AID in the dvd rom but its not working. I have a unlocked harddrive with the MA exploit used hooked up to it. ( the hdd sounds horrible, so im going to have to lock a new drive to it. I wanna be able to pull the chip after im done. What do I do now??
Thanks
edit-- I used the M8 Bios by the way. Did i flash the wrong bios on the wrong bank??
