I have read some off of here and I just a couple more finnaized questions for my own benefit, 1; Whats does FTP mean exactly and 2;Would there be a way to burn them to a DVD and put them onto my X-Box or no these are some of the things I would like to know, Or is there more I need to know I'm just not sure what to do in this department I'm still very new at this eh.

Thanks;

Ok, FTP stands for: File Transfer Protocol. In basic terms, it means transferring files to and from locations. It establishes a direct connection to the source, ready for file transfer. Cable connections and wireless connections are the commonly used types of FTP connection.

In this instance, when we say "FTP to your Xbox" it means establish a link to your Xbox which you will use to transfer files.

On your second question, yes, if your Xbox is already modded (chip or softmod) then you can copy them onto DVD/CD and pop in your box to transfer that way.

Hope that helps.

If you have xbmc on your box you can allways use it to connect to your network and access shared folders through the file explorer.

Ahhh I see well that would be easier with me to just burn them to a CD and what not but how would I be able to put them right onto my X-Box if that is not too big of a question.

Well, after establishing the connection using either a crossover (direct) cable or via a router, you would need an FTP program on your PC. The more commonly used ones are FlashFXP, CuteFTP and Qwix (available on the AID disc).

When you fire up these programs, it shows you the contents of the Xbox HDD, which looks just like a PC's with files and folders. You simply select the location for your emulators to go (normally F:\Emulators) and transfer.

Thats it, simple as that. If you need any help at all with it, just give us a shout.

Hmm I see well what kind of cord would I use for this method?, I don't see where I would be able to hook it up to via PC.

You would use an RJ45 Crossover Network Cable (available pretty much everywhere).

The connector is on the back of the Xbox, right hand side (as you look at it). It connects to the same socket on your PC.

The ethernet connector is the RJ45 connector. Smile

So yes, use that one and connect to the PC. Make sure the cable you use is a crossover cable.
