Hey Ive just upgraded my pc HDD and would like to use my old 60GB drive to upgrade my xbox from its stock drive. My xbox is softmoded and it seems this could be a problem. As from lookin at a few posts its easyer to do with a modchip'd xbox than a softmoded one. I was just wondering what the best way to upgrade would be and If someone would be kind enugh to point me in the direction of some good tutorials. Thanks

Hey man, look in my sig, there may be a link to the tutorial, if not, just look up XBHDM 1.9 and that would be your best bet.
You can also use chimp, which requires opening of the xbox and a molex power splitter. Then it clones your hdd and locks it straight from the mobo.

I used xbox hdd manager 1.9 to do mine and it was a breeze. all you do is create a boot disc and follow some easy steps. Theres no danger of anything up cause all you have to do is unlock it and try again. This is the tutorial I used: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-153.html . Once I figured everything out it took about 10-15 minutes. From what I've heard about hotswaping it can be alittle tricky. I cant really say from personal experience since I've never hotswapped but this definatly seems like the safer way. _________________

All has seemed to have gone fine but I forgot that I am an idiot and have not got my torc screwdrivers in the house. they ar e being biked down here now by my brother. I guess Ill find out soon enugh If i screwed it up. Ill get back to ya.
