Hey, I'm new on here. I've been trying to softmod my Xbox for the last few days by attempting to hot-swap my XBox HD into my PC. MY HD still work perfectly ok in my XBox, but when I try to hook it up to my PC as the primary slave drive, my BIOS says there’s a hard disk error and wont boot, so there’s no way I can get into XP or XP recovery console with it being detected.
Help is appreciated, thanks!!!!
Lastly, is it available on the net to just download an .ISO file or something of a softmodded XBox HD contents so I can burn it onto my spare 40GB drive that I have, and put that in my XB?
Thanks!!!!!!

What is it exactly you're looking at doing with the drives?

I'll try setting it as the primary master, although I don't know if my BIOS has a HD detect option, I'll look today.
FC, are you asking what I'm going to try to do with the drive? If so, First, I was thinking about just trying to copy the 007 exploit gamesave file over to the XB HD so I can load it with 007. Then if that don't work, I was going to copy all my C: and E: contents for xboxhdm.
If you mean what error message I'm seeing, everytime I boot up my PC, my BIOS says:
"Primary slave hard disk error
Press <DEL> to enter SETUP"
which takes me into my BIOS menu.

J, I tried setting it as the primary master, switched the jumpers and moved it to the end of the IDE wire, it didn't work. Nor did I see a HD detect option in my BIOS. I got a Dell 4500 and I believe I have the latest BIOS firmware and I didn't find any option like that.

K, I figured it out. This time, I tried hotswapping after I went into the Memory/Save Games Dash menu on my XB, after that, then my PC was able to read my XB HD. Anyways, I've went through xboxhdm, burned the .ISO image to a disc, booted from it, went through instructions, but then it says it couldnt find my eeprom.bin file? How/Where do I get that? I've read its on the XB HD, so it should be in the RAW data file that WinHex made when I needed my C: and E: files, right?
And also, I'm going to use my 40GB spare HD, not the 8GB.

Question: After I prepare the XBox HD in XB HD Maker 1.9, is it absolutely necessary to lock it before putting the HD into the XBox? I mean, what will happen if I put a prepared unlocked HD into it???
Thanks!
