Hi,
I have used the Krayzies UXE Installer to softmod my xbox. So I only have the choice of the UnleashX or EvoX Dashboards. I have tried one tutorial to make it default but I froze my box on startup, but I fixed that. Now I'm looking for a new way. I am using XBMC 2.0.0 Final-SLIM-FIXED-T3CH as an app. So please I need help getting it as my default dashboard. Thanks to everyone that replies.

one way to do it manually is to find your evoxdash.xbe either on your c or e drive and make a backup copy (i would, just in case u need it again) then use the xbe shortcut .xbe that comes with the xbmc build and rename it and its .cfg file to evoxdash.xbe and evoxdash.cfg. edit the cfg file to the place where xbmc is at either through ftp or through unleashx. this is what i do for my dash setup. any questions just pm me. _________________ If it's broken, repair it,

I'm confused on where to put the .cfg file on unleashx cause that is what I'm using. I understand where to put the .xbe and what to do with it.

Do I need to name it anything special, because I don't have a .cfg file for unleashx. The config file for unleashx is called config.xml. Do I have to get a xml file from somewhere?

ok... to clear things up, the xbmc shortcut is in the rar file of your T3CH XBMC 2006-11-12 2.0.1 SLIM build. There is a sub folder in the rar called \_tools and the files are called (SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe) and (SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg). Make rename these to evoxdash.xbe and evoxdash.cfg. These need to be in the root folder where your current evoxdash.xbe. Again don't forget to edit the evoxdash.cfg to this (E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe) or where ever you stored XBMC. (The only way for the shortcut to work is if the xbe and cfg are in the same folder) I'm sorry if this is a bit long and confusing but for me to explain it fully, it was easier to make it lengthy. Hope it works for you _________________ If it's broken, repair it,

I do not understand. Sorry for making this hard but this doesn't really help me cause I'm using unleashx. I know for sure if I name those to evoxdash.xbe and evoxdash.cfg it probably won't work. So this tutorial didn't clear things up either cause it says something about the xboxmediacenter.xml which they took out of the newer builds cause they had something better that they did without it I think. I have tried putting the .cfg file in their but I don't know what the heck to name it as for unleashx, its very frustrating. i have tried many things that have all failed. Once again sorry that I'm making this harder than it is. I know I could use the aid disc. But I'm not going to because I need to be able to turn my mod off and on and from what I've read you can't do that with those or sid. So no I'm not putting another mod on my box. If all else fails I can always leave XBMC as a app like I have it right now.

o well i'm going to look into making a new tutorial for xbmc as a dash for softmodders so they wont be left behind in confusion like we both were lol. I'll try to have something to you soon once i find out more about how different softmods work from each other. ok. peace out. _________________ If it's broken, repair it,

ok i have good news...
I installed krayzies uxe installer w/MechAssault on my chipped xbox so that i could see the same files that you are working with on your softmodded xbox.I understand why you were confused earlier when i said to replace the evoxdash.xbe with the renamed xbmc shortcut... because there was no evoxdash.xbe anywhere at all.
The way that krayzies installer creates your dash, is different from other softmod exploits.
I'm sorry for all the trouble, but in the end it is all worth it.
The following is the steps to take to make xbmc a dash for krayzies uxe installer.
Step 1) Locate the shortcut xbe and cfg for xbmc in the package it came in and edit the cfg file to E:\apps\xbmc\default.xbe (or your custom location for xbmc if its not in this directory).
Step 2) rename xbe and cfg to default.xbe and default.cfg
Step 3) Now ftp it to your xbox, it doesn't matter where (E:\). You will move these to another folder later.
Step 4) In UnleashX, navigate through file explorer to E:\dashboard\ and rename default.xbe to defaut.backup (for backup purposes).
Step 5) Now go back to where you put the default.xbe and default.cfg, and move these to E:\dashboard\ and your finished.
Removal Process) If you need to use unleashx again as a dash, then just put the shortcut xbe/cfg in a backup folder and rename the default.backup back to default.xbe
I hope this helps alot.

Btw, i think krayzies uxe installer is the best thing i have used so far in softmodding. I really like how it uses the virtual drive stuff. It is so much better than others i have tried in the past. _________________ If it's broken, repair it,

Thanks that worked perfectly. I really appreciate you putting that on your xbox just to see what was the problem. So thanks a bunch.
