Pardon the stupid questions, but I want o make sure I know what to do before I lay out the money...
I will be getting a used xbox to run XBMC, I'll be softmod'ing and installing a larger disk. I think these are the right steps, can someone verify them?
1) Softmod the xbox with AID, including backing up the eeprom
2) Since I don't have access to a modchip'ed xbox, I need to prepare the larger/new disk on my PC. IS that correct, or can I do it from my softmodded xbox with AID?
3) Once the new drive is in the xbox, will I need to re-softmod?

Yep your one the right track but in order to boot AID to softmod your xbox. The xbox has to already be softmodded. So softmod it with SID that comes in AID first then do what you said. Tell us how it goes. I just finished a softmod using the new knave SID talk about great I recommend it!

Thanks. Did you upgrade your hard drive as well? And if so, I'm looking for confirmation on if I have to do it with a PC or I can do it directly from AID on the softmodded XBOX.

I agree chimp is the easiest way. Also you softmod your Xbox with SID not AID. AID is to install apps and stuff after you softmod. Hope this helps if you need anything else post back.

Well, that was easy.
The box is softmodded and XBMC seems to be running great.
I'll be replacing the harddrive in the next few days...
Thanks for everyone's help.
