This weekend I installed the X3 chip with solderless adapter and flashed it with 3294 bios. Had no problems there and everything worked out fine.
I still have the stock HDD in the Xbox now, but I want to install the new 250gig HDD that I just got.
I'm going to burn a copy of AID 3.10 tonight.

So what should I do? Install the new HDD and then stick in the AID dvd and run that or are there other instructions that I should follow? And what all from AID do I want to install?

1st copy the whole C drive and the backup files (eeprom) copy these things. Next copy your E drive too mainly form Tdata and Udata (game saves) then pull the old drive outy and put in the new one. Put AID 3.1 in 1st and then boot up. AID should read and start 1st asking you to format the new hard drive. follow it to a T and then setup your FTP and copy your old files to the new drive

I don't have any game saves that I care to keep. So is it still necessary to back up the E drive?
Also is all the info from the C drive necessary if I'm going to reformat the new HDD with AID? There will be a new dashboard, so what else will I need to back up from the old C drive?

LOL...no you can do what you want...but having it backed up with your eeprom is a save way of doing it....but No you can just put the AID in and let it run its coruse...you must keep your old stock HDD just in case shit happens (it does) you asked me and thats what I said if you want to back them up don't if you don't care..your box

Thanks. I appreciate the help. I wanted to understand what was necessary and what was just time consuming extra work. I'll back up the C drive first. I can do that no problem since I was already FTP'd into the Xbox yesterday.
Thanks again for the help.

By the way, I have an 00 1.8T Passat. You do any modifications to your V6?

LOL...I copied my whole C drive and burned it to a CD and thats the end of that...(also did the tdata and udata as wll) But you really don't need to I just learned the hard way for my HDD died a week after I installed it and well every file and emu I had gone.

Now for the car I have H&R sports, Bilstien shocks, GIAC, COAM... I have done everything there is to both V6 and 1.8T models. Have you chipped your B5 yet?

I haven't had my B5 for too long yet. I'm on Passatworld and B5one sites quite often though. I haven't really done much to mine at all. Installed a boost gauge, 18" rims, Kenwood 7017 dvd headunit, and I've done the COAM. I haven't chipped yet though. I would like to lower the car a little bit too though. Probably just about an inch or so.
Let me know what your user name is on one of the passat sites if you belong to them, and I'll check out your car if you have some pics on site.

Thanks for the help with the Xbox. I'll back up my stock HDD and then I'll back up my new HDD once I install all the additional software just incase the HDD dies on me like yours did.
