Ive got a 1.1 version Xbocks sitting here flashing red and green. The only sign of life is the Audio on startup. The video output is just a black screen.
Apparently this box was an attempted mod via a hyperx (spider) chip gone wrong.
Is there any hope of reviving this from here?
edit. the chip is no longer present and I cant see any visual signs of physical damage.

did you do the install? was the xbox fine before the install?? why was the chip removed?

No I didn't do the install.
According to the guy who gave it to me. It was fine until the install.
the chip isnt in the machine anymore but i do have it here.
From what Ive read about Hyper X I would rather not use it if I could get around it .
I guess they took the chip out when it didnt work.

it sounds like it had all the "hacked" stuff on there and they just pulled out the chip... i think the easiest would be install a new chip.. but you could also do a hotswap... but one of the more "experienced" people on this site might say its something totally different..

I dont think the chip actually ever worked though.
I may try reinstalling it!

make sure you have the right bios, and flash it... and was it soldered or solderless?? don't know anything about the hyper X..

ok, sooooo let me see here. If it was the HDD you would get an error code for it, so therfor its not that, even tho it could possibly have a problem 2.

No actually it was working fine before the chip was intstalled.
Not after it. I will try re isnstalling it see if it does any good!
