Hi I'm new to the mod scene and I was wondering if there are any advantages to having a mod chip. Right now I have an xbox I softmoded with Auto Installer Deluxe. I'm gonna be giving that one to a freind of mine soon and I was curious if there was really any point to putting a chip in my other box . _________________

softmods are pretty much like modchips for the common things and even know its possible to have your softmod intact and still use xbox live , so really softmods are nice if you want a drop down figures of list then see my link on softmods vs hard mods questions _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

Thanks alot for the info. I guess there really is no reason for my broke ass to shell out the cash for a chip when I can just do the softmod for free. _________________
for me softmod wins hands down i herd of so many prob's with chips where there not installed proply but with a softmod (i done about 40-50 now) it is so simple and you don't need to open them up io install a soft mod!! , i've had people bring them back where thay have messed them up, and it takes 10 min's to fix again......
and we have people like DJB to thank for that.
With the aid disc you can do anything with it......
Well that's how i feal any way............ _________________

i think chips are better because of solderless adapters.. and if you mess anything up you have the AID disk to boot-up and install anything you messed up...

keep in mind you still need small amount of cash flow to get the proper tools to transfer the backdoor hacks and the game to make the backdoor possible _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

I only spent $3 for my copy of mechassault. everything else was free. I used an old usb cord I had laying around and an extra controller conector to make my own action replay. All the software I needed I found on the net for free. I figure with how little that I spent softmods are the way to go. _________________
