i was wondering what files/folders or what edits have happened on my xbox, that i should make sure there not there to make sure that i dont get banned.
right now im using krazies ndure 1.1 installer, but i did try to use some other installer before....softmod installer deluxe (2)? i dont know who made that one though since ive seen a couple others that looked different, so i dunno who did it.
but after i patched it with the installer deluxe or w/e, i did a "restore C:" then tryed krazies ndure.
well my friend wanted me to play halo 2 with him on xbox live and i have some trial keys (from those burger king games biggrin.gif ) so i wanted to play him.
I already know about doing the cold boot, making sure that the led is green and not orange(my softmod color).
i saw some modding tutorials before that said you have to make the live accounts BEFORe u softmod? was i supposed to??! sad.gif
PS.
looking on the xbox in the file manager, i saw "c,d,e,f,x,y,z" but on my ftp i saw "c,d,e,h,x,y,z" ???? uh o?
teh "f/h" partition had 2 folders that look like saved game names "0000000000" and "34923149234"(random numbers just made up)
notice how it says i saw, not i see...and had not has....well i cant see and f or an h drive on my xbox now.

i dont know how krazies ndure works but with sid4 all you do is open the tray insted of the power button and it patches everyting back to normal and the circle led becomes green and loads ms dash then from there its safe to play xbox live . but first you have to make sure you have a clean ms dash on the C folder do you have anything inmportant on your E? if not you can delete the e and pretty much start over , you want to save your EEPROM.BIN and you E udata/tdata everyting else is not needed _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

i can boot into the ms dashboard without the orange led coming on (means the softmod is running)
how do i know if its "clean" and i wont get banned?

simple delete every file and put a new ms dash thats the easiest way , so ftp your xbox back up everything you want and your eeprom.bin is the most important one incase someting goes bad you can make a bigger hard drive with this file . ms dash can be found on the useful links under newbie section and it must be extracted _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

ok, so....i should have registered for a live account BEFORE modding.
reason : when u try to play an xbox live game u either sign in or register a new account....i had to register a new account, so i restarts and trys going into the ms dash....but etc.....so it comes up with an error.
so i have to uninstall the mod, make sure i have all the original ms files...register for a live account, then redo the mod.

well if it ran to an error code *im guessing error 21?* then that means the mod didnt let you which is great why? simple cuz you want to have a bigger hard drive and a fully modded xbox BEFORE you register your xbox info otherwise ms will get the hard drive serial therefore once upgrade and trying to go to xbl will get you banned due to not matching numbers. so first lets ftp your xbox and backup everything or atlest your EEPROM.bin from there you now have your eeprom and you can work on your bigger hard drive and forgeting your stock one once you upgrade your bigger one and put it on your xbox it will boot retail ms dash then you re do the mod but this times sid 4 style _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

it wasnt error code 21, it just coulnt open the ms dash or something.
im pretty sure that the guy before me used xbox live(i bought a used one)
is it still possible to upgrade the hard drive after its connected to xbl?
EDIT: the error msg that pops up sas "error, failed to boot, the disk may be dirty or damaged" (halo 2)

well say you put a bigger hard drive and you try to connect to xbl if anyone been on xbl before with stock hard drive then you would get banned so if your unsure if someone else been on xbl before think about it before using a bigger hard drive to connect to xbl , _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

i downloaded MS dash C, thats what i want to to replace my dash with to make sure that i have a legit/unmoddified dash right?

the thing i want to know the most though is, how can i find out if my xbox has been connected to xbox live? does it leave a file on ur hdd when u connect, or do only there servers know?
