Hello members of Xbox HQ!

I have a problem:

This morning, I was trying to FTP some files to my xbox, and it seemed to freeze on me, so I rebooted it a few times. Well, the last time I did, something got messed up and the Dashboard won't load or it crashes during bios because it freezes on the 'X' logo screen. I had made no modifications to my xbox's bios or dashboard. This is also a formatted hdd 40gb and I've been using it for about 6 months now. Xbox HDM can't find it either, so I can't reformat.

Help would be appreciated.

Is your Xbox soft modded or Hard modded? It sounds like a Bios problem. If it was a dash problem You should get an error at a contact customer service screen. May I ask what file you were transferring to the Xbox? If you have the original drive try putting it in and see if it works.

Well it's softmodded, and I am getting a X3 mod chip for xmas, but I was transferring the XDK dash to my xbox and certain files would stop in the middle of transfer, and my xbox wouldn't let me delete them. I will try to put my original drive in today and Yeah, I think it might be bios because my Xebian Live CD won't even boot.

edit- I don't know how anything could touch my bios as I never put it in the C drive. They were spozed to be in E:\XDKDash

I just tested the original hdd and found that that works. XboxHDM still can't find it. Can I format the hdd from my xbox when I get a mod chip?

since you say your getting an X3, yes, pop in your HDD(unless its locked with a different eeprom), go to HDD options and format all drives.

Then your ready and depending on the size of the hdd, you may need to change your LBA settings. If its still the 40GB hdd make it, and i quote "F GETS ALL NO G". After this, just install a dashboard with AID and there you have it!

Do you mean I can format within the BIOS? As in running without an HDD?

No, I'm not going to run my xbox without an HDD.. That's stupid. I was just asking so I didn't have to figure out how to not format my good one.

BTW- Maybe your hdd got farked up too Razz

edit- I fixed my hdd. Used xtreme-source.com's tut for recovering off softmodded xbox w/o eeprom (I do have it tho).
