HI Guys,
I screwed up big time I think. I don't know any way out anymore. Please help!
Here's the situation. I bought an original Xbox from a friend. Because I did not have a memory card I asked someone else to soft-mod my Xbox.
Using the Splinter Cell savegame he modded it. Everything worked fine.
But then I wanted to install te new XBMC, so I did. It worked fine. Finally I wanted to have XBMC as my dashboard. And then it went wrong!
After carefully reading some tutorials, I could not get XBMC to be my dashboard, so I tried some things myself. Finally I replaced a default.xbe file in the folder e://dashboard with the XBMC .xbe file. After ding this my Xbox won;t boot anymore. After the Xbox logo I get the error 21.
When I turn the Xbox on whit an original dvd (Project Gotham racing) I can play the game, but can't go to any dashboard.
Any suggestions?

yeah error 21 is ok theirs solutions now you can either do
first of all get your hands on the game that was used to mod the xbox once you have the game open the dvd tray put the game turn it off turn xbox back on with game INSIDE it should load game once the game is loaded hit load then the mod menu should run ( please say you didnt delet the saves) once it loads just choose the option to install dashboard
or you can try and run aid 3 disc ( or any slayers disc) and have a installed dashboard , once any dashboard is installed your error 21 shoud disappear.
once you get that going i sugget installing sid 4 its more safer and you can use xbl without uninstalling the softmod and you wont get banned _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

I do not have the original game that was used during the softmod .
Your other option, I already started working on that. I already downloaded AID 3, but I cant boot it. The Xbox will jst ignore it. I burned it on a cd-r. I read some things about that Xboxes like cd-rw's better than cd-r's. So, I now burn it on a cd-rw.
Lets hope this works

if you have a spare dvd-r around it will eliminate nearly all chances of reading issues , yes some of the dvd drives dont read cd-r unless tweeking is involved , more likely you have a thompson drive as both phillps and samsung read cd-r unless you burned the disc wrong ....
lets hope aid 3 is readable otherwise your gonna get the game and then you can fix it , if aid 3 and the game dont work for an unexpectly reason the y'll have to do a hotswap without an eeprom _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

I am not at my own house right now, so I don't have all my usual stuff here.
Does it matter if I use a dvd-r or a dvd-rw ?

cd-rw and dvd-rw are asking for less chances of reading it , so if you use dvd-r you have to make sure you get it right , i mean the way you make your aid 3 it has to be as iso image file so xbox can read it properly rather then data file _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions
