Hi guys,
i got error 16 after a failed attempt to update my softmod dashboard. now system returns error 16. stumbled upon this tutorial

i gave it a shot last night but i got some funny experience.
Error 12 instead of 11

i've tried disconnecting my dvddrive in various method and all i get is error 12. is there a way to get past?
Tried putting connecting on pc when i have error 12

i had 2 seperate encounter that surprised me.
first is that my windows boot up and it detects the western digital harddrive! but b4 i knew it..it's gone.
Second occassion, i tried booting xboxhdm, it went thru (instead of primary drive failure) and after i press 1 at xboxhdm page...it loads till a point and pc reboots itself.
what am i donig wrong. do i really need a mod chip?
OTHER PROB/Quest.

also...will swapping still work if i disconnect the power cable from xbox to harddrive? cos my pc and xbox are in sperate rooms.

not if you want a paperweight. if the hdd doesnt lock back down b4 it loses power theres no real hope of unlocking it without the eeprom. now to get your error 12 or whatever unplug the dvd drive ide cable and the yellow cable. _________________
