Post subject: Hi Def output from softmodded PAL xbox

Hi, I have a softmodded (splinter cell PAL exploit) PAL (european) xbox, modded using the latest SID. What I want to do is to get the xbox to output video in Hi Def (i.e. 720/1080). My understanding is that these setting are in the original MS Dash, but unfortunately when I load the MS dash I cannot find these settings. I've installed the Hi Def patch from the soft mod menu but that doesn't seem to do anything (indeed, when I install it it immediately prompts me if I want to uninstall it [I say no to this, of course]).

Can anyone please help?

You need the hi def pack in order to switch it to hi def in the ms dash. Without it the option is no even available. Click here
to view a picture of a hi def pack.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I have the xbox connected with a component (i.e. hi def) connector. In the unleash dash, under the video options, I can select the hi-def options (720, 1080) which I couldn't do when connected with the normal xbox scart, so I assume the connecter is the right one (it's made by IXOS and isn't the official xbox connector, which I understand are rare). Changing these settings in the unleash dash doesn't seem to do anything though - when I load up xbmc the only options I get under appearance are PAL 16:9 and 4:3 and auto.

Yes, unleash seems to allow me to change the settings although doing this doesn't seem to have any actual effect (I can change the 720, 1080, etc setting in unleash to 'yes' but this seems to have no impact when checking the video settings in MS Dash or in XBMC [[i.e. they both still think the video output is PAL in Standard Def]).

Can I use the enigmah video switcher thingy on a softmodded box? If so, what do I do (I have downloaded the iso file, I just dont know what to do with it!). Can I ftp it to my box and run it there? TIA.

Used Enigmah Video Switcher. Extracted the ISO, ftp'd it over to my box and ran it under Apps. Job done.
