i was just given an xbox that has been softmodded at some point, but now there is no savegame on the HD, plus there is no dash, MS or otherwise to be able to transfer the savegame to the HD.....what can i do???..................

On that same screen whereb it says call for assistance there should be a number in the top left corner.

its givin error 16...........is a hotswap the only way to cure it??.................so....i need a new HD?

i found out what error 16 is......the clock thing........is it possible for me to take out the HD, connect it to pc, format it then drag the files from a softmodded xbox to it, then put it back in the xbox?..........i have all the files from a softmodded xbox on my pc already.................

Kinda, yeah. The drive is locked, so the hotswap is needed to unlock it unless you have backed up your eeprom.bin from this xbox, in shich case the fix is much easier. Check my sig for a tutorial on a hotswap _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Just one more thing, if your Hard Drive is locked, your PC won't be able to format it.
