Obviously that part is a little outdated since the working solderless adapter was installed by you and is running the chip
I couldn't have done it without your help !!
most of those SP ICE and older XENIUM guides could really lead a person down the wrong path
the basics are there ... but when some of the major steps has changed ... things need to be updated to reflect new models ...etc
if I haven't consulted with you 1st ... I'd probably went ahead and rebuilt the LPC and could have toasted my "TOYS" already

my younger cousin sorta copycat what I did without doing research ... he ended up broke the "hooky" part due to not being able to "set" the other end to the board correctly and is now begging me to help him repair ( the template was not a perfect fit so there was room for the wires to miss the target when I double check his work ) ...
now .. to make matter worse ... he tried to solder the gold wire back to the adapter and also did touch the board with the solder too
it look like whatever left of an indication of a silver hole on the board .... he completely took the mark off the board ... so I figured I would pinpoint the exact location on the back and do a quick fix ... guess what ??? the sucker took the rosin off the mark at the back too !!
so ... how should I go about to patch his machine up ??? at this point ... all that matter is the contact point from the hooky part to the board in order to get the 5th light !
looking at the "1.6 manual tutorial" ... it seem to be the "LAD1" connection ( LPC rebuild diagram ... 5 wires ... LAD0 - LAD3 ... plus VCC3.3V and the LFRAME )
he need the LAD1 connection fixed ... since everything else is intact
so now what ??? cannot really give direct heat to the board + nothing to solder to.... are the an alternative point ??? looks to be just "ground" ??? I could be wrong

chatting around the local "used games" stores ... we were able to find a savaged v1.6 board ... came frome a 2005 model ... Salvaged ??
$30 CDN ... all is well !!
...got a spared "shorted" burned board as a souvenir
learned a great deal along the way ...

there is absolutely no difference installing the ICE or Gold chip. The headers are the same. What differs is the install between v1.0-v1.4 and v1.6>
before the SP adapter was available you had to rebuild the LPC to fit the ICE to a v1.6
This is no longer necessary. Check the latest SPiceguide on the TX donwloads section. The Iceguide is now outdated
