Hi guys,
well its my first post, fist xbox, first mod, but not my first screw up.
I have just fitted a xecuter 2.6 ce with a solderless solution, which seems to work fine, or did...
i read many post regarding the flashing, and where to get the bios from. so armed with buckets of info i trawled the irc to find the bios i was recommended to get.
i followed the advise found on many sites closely, although im not too sure they were correct
i used the flashx 3.03 via http to flash bank 1.
it now frags on bank 1.
advised to flash bank 2 using a diff bios, now that frags too.
pleeeeeez help, this has taken over 3 days to try and sort out, and now i think i may have blown it.
so many differing pieces of info regarding the bios size, bios version all makes this a complete headache.
it boots fine with the chip turned off, but i cannot find a way to undo what i have done, even though i1m still not sure what i did wrong.

sounds like u didnt flash right...the only fix i know of is to get a programmer but wait for hellblazer to get back to u cuz im not all that sure _________________

If you don't want to shell out for a programmer, I would do this:
Keep chip disabled
Softmod the xbox
Use the softmod to boot AID
Use the FLashning tool(needs to be added as an update pack to the ISO usnig the ISO updated)
Turn on the chip
Flash the chip with a 512k version of X2 5035 bios
Thats a lot to do, so post back what you need help with

i live in the UK, although i would love to visit canada, its a bit far for a programmer.
That bios 5035 512k was the bios i flashed bank 2 with, just before it died.
If you assume i know nothing about the flashing or apps off an xbox, then you are on the correct path.
I tried to create a boot cd, but it refused to boot.
Does the cd need to created as ISO with the image in the root so it boots like VMware and linux or does it need to unpacked from the image.
I will look into getting the stuff you mentioned for the softmod.
You mentioned the flashing tool, is that different from the http flashx?
I asked a similiar question in another forum and was slagged off for not being experienced, that was pleasant!!! NOT.

For your boot image, yes, just burn the .iso as it is. No need to extract it.
The flashing tool is basically evox dashboard with a customized menu and large set of bioses, as well as the information you should need for the flashing. Very well put together by one of our admins, DJB.

To softmod the box, am i right in thinking that its too late for me to boot from dvd, so can stick the HD in my pc and install it there as i dont have a usb or mom stick?
If i can use the HD swap, do i just dump the iso in one of the volumes, as i can see how the box will boot from the iso if on the hd.
I have read the FAQ relating to AID written by DJB.
I have the Installer says its Auto Installer deluxe V3 but having trouble getting the flasher (is there a proper app name i should look for) found 1, but it was not created DJB, so think i have the wrong app.
Do i need to add the flasher (when i find it)to the AID iso as well?

To softmod you can use a xboxhdm image to install evox, yes. I have even submitted soch a disk image to the VIP download section.
The Flashing tool needs to be added, and can be found in ..\Auto.Installer.Deluxe.v3.10.Xbox-Hq\Addon Packs\AID3.Addon.BIOS.Pack.v1.10.rar

Keep in mind that only certain parts of modding are illegal. providing copyright code or circumventing copyright protection is illegal in some areas, but running linux(for example) is not, sibnce it uses custom code and MS hardware _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
