I have a modded version 1.0 xbox with a Xenium gold in it. I am running the xecutar bios and using XBMC as a dash. Certain games that I try to play stall during loading, or won't even start at all. Topspin tennis for instance, when I try to play by disc (NTSC disc) it just goes to a blue screen as soon as it starts to load. It does the same thing if I rip it to my HD. Other games will start to play, but then stall on the "Loading" screen, or somewhere within the main menu, same place every time. This is happening with quite a few games.
Judging by how the problems are occuring I feel like something is wrong with my disk caching. I'm not sure I setup my partitions right when I installed the harddrive, I just used the Xenium OS HD setup wizard. I currently have C,E,G,X,Y, and Z partitions, but I'm not sure which are used for caching, or if they are working. Also I had an older modded xbox, and these games worked fine, so I know that its not the games. If anyone has any advice please let me know, thanks!

Is it an NTSC console???

I forget but there is a way to make your dash play both auto. I have a few games that are PAL and they start without any iusses _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

Yes it is an NTSC console, and I have it set to play both, but it does have trouble with most PAL games still. Either way the games I am using are NTSC, so they should be working. Plus even if it was a NTSC vs. PAL issue I wouldn't be seeing stalling during loading, it would just be video issues.

Yes I have tried clearing the cache folders, and it says they are cleared. What I am wondering is anything getting written to them to begin with? Can certain games run with no caching at all?

well catching is made for games to load without catching the game willnot load. ummm i think u should try to play them from M$DASH just to see if u get the dirty disc error. if u do just clean the lens cuz this happened to my friend when he modded his xbox _________________

My MS dash is hosed, it just plain doesn't work. I use DVDtoXbox to rip from the disk to my HD. The same errors occur wether I launch the game from XBMC or from my Evox dash.

(and no, no a pirated copy. I went out and bought it. 50$ )

oh you did acctually go out and buy it did ya lol sorry, well chances are that game you have probably has copy protection, try playing the orginal and make a game save then back it up to hdd and try playing it, if that dont work you may have to look for a patch. _________________

aha, are you by any chance clearing cache through the Xenium OS?
this didnt actually work for most users. clear the cache files manually (use dash file manager or FTP) by deleting everything inside
