I got a used Orignal PS2 HDD that you get with FFXI.
I know this is the wrong site for this question, but I can't find any answers anywhere...

I intend to use it as a game save storage as intended by sony.
It is a working drive.

Is there any PC formating tool to get it going?
the Browser doesnt recognize it.

By the By I read this thing is really a Maxtor Fireball..40GB....
I really want it to go in my PS2...
but if I cant get it going I'll just stick it in my Xbox....

if it is a normal 20 pin hdd it should just fit into your computer which you should then be able to access it, if its a usb hdd then plug it in to access it shouldnt be too hard. If you want to use it on your xbox, you can do two things. 1. you can hotswap, which i dont do, or 2. you could put the xbox hdd into your pc, and get all the files off of it. then put the PS2 hdd into the pc and copy all of the files from the xbox hdd to the ps2 one, after you delete all of the stuff off of the ps2 one. should work my friend doe sit all the time......you can pm me with ne other questions about how to do these methods.

I have a Original Ps2HDD that comes with FFXI..
I don't have the PS2 formatter disc that comes with the boxed HDD for PS2..

I want to Format the HDD to work again so I can put it in my PS2 for my Gamesaves. Im tired of del my gamesaves...

I read SCEA doesnt have anymore of the PS2 utility disc so I was looking for a PC Prog to Format it with.....

Other wise i'm going to format the Drive and put me XBOX Backup System ISo on the 40GB HDD for more storage instead of thee 8Gb HDD that came Retail.
I have the HQ essentials to do so...

But If theres any more advice pertaining to putting in my PS2 before I put it in me Xbox it would be very appreciated...
