My boyfriend tried modding his xbox a little while ago. He read into it but didn't know enough and ended up trying to get rid of it because it wasn't working right. He thought he was deleting the right things but apparently not. Now his Xbox startup screen and Xbox live will not work. You can still play games on it, but when we tried to transfer our accounts from mine to his to play online, it wouldn't work. And, if you don't put a game in the Xbox, it just sits at a black screen. I seen a post about restoring an xbox back to normal.. as if it had never been modded but I couldn't follow along. If anyone can walk me through step-by-step.. that would be GREATLY appreciated!! We don't know much about all this, so it's been difficult trying to restore it. However, I figure it's worth a shot.. rather than going out and buying a new xbox.

We used mech assault to install with a linux program. Whenever you put in that game.. you can still get into the linux. I don't know if that's what you mean or not. We really don't know too many details.. sorry.. he shouldn't have messed with it at all. There was some tutorial online he was following. I think this was the site.. Ok, so if you can still launch the linux app, what exploit does it boot to? Actual linux, or something like softmod installer deluxe(SID)?
