What should the temp stay at?
I have
CPU 138 F
GPU 109 F
I put the 80mm FAN in the back blowing out, and the stock fan on the side blowing in, and i soldered it back onto the pins where its suppost to solder, running it at 50%.... _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

That was with just the stock fan.
I replaced with a 80mm fan did the 12v mod put the stock fan and a 80mm on the outside blowing out.
now its like
cpu 115-121f or so
gpu 95-109f or so
hdd 87-95f or so

putting in an 80mm fan really does the trick. I just recently did that and saw anywhere from 30-40% drop in temp. High temps can usually be accounted for by dust, bad ventillation (all the fans in the world can't help if your box is inside another box, get me?) and just plain ol' stupidity. HypnotiX, your dual fan mod will do you just fine (depending on where your second fan is). Honestly, on my computer, I have 4 80mm fans, and they all blow out. There's enough air coming in from other vents that the fans do their work. And trust me, my CPU runs around room temp, even after some serious Doom 3 gaming .
So if you're not happy with the temp results, flip the other fan so they're BOTH blowing out. The needed air will then be pulled through the other vents, and if enough air can't be pulled, hell, maybe the low pressure inside the box will help keep the temp down. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Has anyone tried taking off the heat sink off the cpu and gpu and applying AS5 to see if that lowers temps? Or is the stuff Microsoft puts on quality compound?

The compund they use is more than adequate for the Xbox uses. But if you're paranoid, new compound has never hurt any system i've ever heard of. So if you want to, go ahead and replace the adhesive with whatever you need. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

I am trying to design a xbox vent system hypnotix. My ideas are only on paper right now. Something like this but for both sides, left side draws air inside, the right side brings it outside. I've a lot of homework atm, thinking of starting this weekend or something. I require some help for the electrical bit: the wiring. I will ask j8994 for some help on that. If you want to keep ur xbox cool, try a vent system like I am gona make. I can help you out.. _________________

a cross flow vent, you will have to flip the one set of fans so it will draw the air out instead of trying to create a vaccum effect which is no good for the xbox. _________________
