hi im a complete noob to this and I think I just messed up my xbox hd.
my xbox was acting weird for like ever, so I decided to hot-swap using xboxhdm and chose the option "wipe current fatx partition" expecting to be able to build a "new hd from scratch". well well I hit the option build a new hd from scratch it said "no partition found. are you sure this is the right hd" or something like that.
what did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

no one knows?! I didn't shut the xbox off because I know that it will get locked again. So it's still on and just sitting there ready to be connected to my pc again.[/b]

do you have a backup of ur eeprom on the xbox HDM disc.

No, I do not. I read that if I was hot swapping I wouldn't need it.

Your right, hotswapping you don't need it, but its infinitely easier if you do.

No I disconnected it in fear of it locking if I reboot my system.

If the drive unlocked with the xbox it wil stay unlocked as long as it is not powered down, connecting or disconnecting the IDE cable won't make a difference. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Oh, well either way I had to disconnect in order to plug my pc hdd back in, and sign in here to try and figure out how to fix this. haha
