Iv had Mame X on the Xbox for ages now but from i first had it the games take ages to load (up to a few minutes for some of the bigger ones) & i just assumed thats what it was ment to be like.
After speaking to another person a few weeks ago who also has the same set up they say the Mame games should load up in a few secs not a few minutes like mine does so there must be something wrong with Mame or it installed badly so im gonna take it off & install the latest version & fire all the roms on again & this comes to my questions.
Firstly has anybody else experienced these deadly slow loading times with MameX or know what might be causing it & also where can i get the latest version of MameX so i can take the old one off & update my Xbox with the latest one which will hopefully sort the loading speeds out.

I would try updating MAME X to see if it makes a difference first. _________________

you can sign up for vip and download them from here, or you can get them from xbins. Or download AID 3.0 and 3.04 update pack and use the Auto Installer to install your emulators. _________________

MAMEdOX 1.1 and the 1.5 front end but the 1.5 front end isnt nessary. _________________

Also most mame roms will load fast but there are others that take time. I have to wait 3 to 4 mins for KOF2002 to load and thats off of mame and FBAXXX ITs the size of the rom. But yes I would even try the mame128ox it runs the roms fine and its alittle easyer to work then mame. What roms are you having iusses with too? _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

I know the newer games would take a minute or 2 to load but even old games like The Punisher (1993) takes 1min 20secs & The Simpsons (1991) 50 secs ect & it should`nt take that long atall cuz sometimes i load a game & by the time it`s loaded i forget what game it was i loaded no joke

I went on to Xbins there & i could`nt find Mamedox 1.1 in the Emulator foldor or any Mame emus for that matter.
Could someone point me in the right direction & explain in laymans terms how i get to it as im new to the whole Irc/newsgroups thing.
