I softmodded an xbox last night and it went fine. Now when I was putting in the bigger HD is where I ran into problems. I used Xboxhdm 1.9 copied over me C and E partitions and eeprom.bin *I had to use Configmagic to get the eeprom files, the back ups from SID I couldn't find*. I made my image, burned it on DVD and then rebooted the pc with the new HD hooked up. Partition tables were made, C and E partitions where copied over. Reboot the PC and went to go lock it, first problem program said "Can't find eeprom.bin" f#&@. So I reboot my pc after hooking it back up and open the eeprom.txt wrote down the xboxpassword and rebooted. Now the program said password, so i typed in the password locked it and hooked up my xbox. Error06. Apparently I should have used the "xboxhdd key"?
After that I got on the forums here and read a post how, I need to get a new HD or chip my xbox. Why is that? Couldn't I just zero out the HD and start over? Would that "unlock" it? I'm assuming the xbox saw the wrong HD key and said nope, not ours... so if I zero out the drive and do the xboxhdd Key it should work?

Hi mate when you backed up your EEPROM.bin to Xboxhdm 1.9 eeprom folder did you rename it..... cos you need to rename it (EEPROMbackup.bin to just EEPROM.bin) then it will work.........
can you not ulock the HDD with the same number You locked it with using Xboxhdm 1.9...? _________________

I tried that last night aswell, it didn't say it was unlocked, and I went to go lock it again and it said it was still locked. Should I try and unlock it again, I still have the code, I think that was my f#&@ up, I didn't take the backup off the end of the file : /

Another question since the HD is locked, lets say I can't get it unlocked is it fucked for everything or just that Xbox *I know I can fix it with a modchip*. What if I burn the ISO again this time making the file name of the eeprom correct and then try to unlock it?

sorry mate you will need to unlock it keep trying then start from Scratch again....

I think I found something to fix my problem, I haven't tried yet becuase I'm at work, but I will post what happens tonight when I f#&@ with it.
This app does work, it cost me 20 bucks to unlock a 250 gig HD.
