Hello all, my son's xbox has an executor 2 chip installed and was up and running. On vacation, somehow something was changed and all that will come up on the screen is an evox dash with xbox-hq.com in the top with options for ms dashboard, reboot, poweroff,settings, backup. He was playing with the xbox and shut it down he says and now this is all that comes up. We have returned from vacation and I have booted off the disc that was provided when I had the xbox modded. The boot screen is Auto Installer 3 deluxe static version, and there are numerous options. I have went to file manager and there are C,D,E,F,X,Y,Z drives, nand the F drive still has all my sons saved games. I am wanting to get the xbox to boot into a menu off the HD instead of this disc, and have the option to play his games, or DVD's, etc.. Can anyone help me in determining what I have to do to get his xbox back where he can use it. Thank you Blown105.

Boot the AID disc again, install new dash(wich ever one you like, id recomend UnleashX).Install it to E: and then reboot with disc out, should load up fine! It sounds to me like it's showing one of the xbox-hq skins, and that the config file may have been changed.
I assume that basically there is no option for emulators, games, etc. I would just replace the .ini file.
Also, if your trying to reinstall from the AID disk, make sure that your installng the files to the right drive letter. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

I think it is the xbox-hq.com skin.. has characters at the top (two girls two guys), and there are only MS Dashboard, Reboot, Power off, Settings, Backup options.
I have ftp'ed into the xbox and there is no config.ini file on C: is that where it should be? There is a evox.ini file and here it is..."

The problem sounds like a corrup evox.ini file.
I would reinstall the dash, but not sure why you would want to install your dashboard to E: partition. I would suggest this.
First boot up AID and install hacked dashboard (evolution X) to C: with E+F support.
If that doesn't work, boot up AID again and select the option to format the C partition only. Then, install MS Dashboard and then your hacked dashboard.

Does your son want to play XBL?

To this point he has only played his games off the xbox, he has asked me about playing xbox live but, I am unaware on how to do it and thus have not to this point. I just found your site and have been trying to read alot, but alot is WAY over my head on this game system.!.. I appreciate all your help !
What would be the easiest way to play xbl? he has Halo, and several others that I believe are live games. That would be a neat thing to show him he can do.
