Ok so this is my first post and I think this is where it should be, if not I will be glad to move it.
Here is the deal: I got the SID 3.1 and ran it under splinter cell for my xbox. I installed the NkPatcher System on Single Boot. I then installed evox under C:/. I restarted and my xbox gave me the error code 21. I can run games, and always launch the Linux splinter cell game and have tried multipal times to fix and nothing has worked. I have looked on the boards and noticed that a lot of people that ran 3.1 got the same error as me and were recomended to run 4.5, so that is what I have decided to do. When I run 4.5 and install Evox under single boot and dual boot it goes to the test screen and I get this comes up:
"Batch Process Failed
Last Item was E\backup\MSNOTFOUND
Action: rename"
What does this mean?

I'm in the exact same boat. SID 3.1 got me the red flashing light, and no boot (tried it twice, and had no problems.) Restore orriginal and back to booting MS. Tried 4.5, and got error 22 ??, and again no dash boot.
Restored orriginal again, and now I'm looking for the same answer.

If anyone can answer my first question of what does this:

mean and how to fix it that would be great!

use the uninstall feature in SID 4.5 and then once thats done reinstall it then you should be golden. _________________

I pressed uninstall and it gave me the same batch error message.

I thought I did, but I have looked around for it and I don't think I did.
Is that what is causing the problem, and if so what could I do to fix it?

try backing it up and see what happens, its required in order for you to continue the softmod. _________________

I did and it gave me an error screen. It backed up the Mod dash fine though.

First things first:
Have you backed up your eeprom? If not, here is what I have done:
Get into SID menus and (if you need to) adjust the network settings, then reset the xbox. Get back into menu, and you should have FTP access to the xbox. Then, use the "backup eeprom" option, back it up, get back to SID menu, FTP into the xbox, and backup your eeprom. If something drastic happens, you'll save your self 10 minutes-4 hours of frustration.
You said you installed with 3.1?
I've had this problem before with 3.1, and what I did was format the C:, installed MSDASH on C, and rebooted. I got MS dash. So I dropped SC back in, and did the proper installation.
The errors your describing sound like 4.5 though.
If it is 4.5, unmount the image, format, and install MS dash again. Again, reboot. Get back into the SID menus. Backup MS dash, backup eeprom, and install again. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

oh a previous softmod, that softmod has to be uninstalled first before you upgrade the mod _________________

Well, I went to xbox scene and they recomended Krayzie's NDure installer, so I tried that and it did not work, now I can only boot the Krayzie installer and cannot get to any of the SID.
Am I stuck or is there anything I can do to remove the krayzie installer and go back to SID, ftp everything, uninstall and then re-run?

you know if you want to start off with a fresh harddrive since its crammed with exploits, I would hotswap it, it will make a new harddrive and you can mod it with SID 4.5. _________________

Thats basicaly what I want to do. I clicked the link in your sig for the hotswap tut, and it looks pretty complicated. Are there any other ways?
What comes with xboxhdm 1.9? Does MS dash come with it?
It also says "A PC(remove all hd's) ,blank CD-R/W and A CD Burner "
What does it mean by a PC Remove all HD?
