I found 2k6 to be a vast improvement over previous years. The hitting style requires a small learning curve (you use the analog stick instead of the "a" button for swinging) but once you understand the controls the game is obviously well thought out.
Pros: What I like about this game compared to most other baseball games is how the batting ability is equally split between the batter and the pitcher. You can strike the batter out as a pitcher but as a batter you are able to see where the ball is headed before hand I find it frustrating with some baseball games that as a batter you have to guess if it is going to be a strike or not but with this game you have a lot more control.
This game also has good graphics, announcers, and an overall good feel for the game.
Cons: I like the controls now, but it took a full game to start really grasping them and I feel like your base runners don't have quite enough control. As a base runner if you have a strong lead off before the pitcher throws the ball, it is very easy to be picked up.
All and all I really enjoyed this game and I plan on this being my baseball game for many years to come. I recommend getting it.
