hey, today i tried to install the spidergx on my v1.0 xbox, and im pretty sure i did everything correctly, but when i turn the chip on and then turn on my xbox, by xbox starts booting, then stops, trys again, then stops, then eventually the ejection button flashes green/red. if i turn the modchip off and turn on my xbox, the xbox works fine.

Check where you put the D0. You've identified the Xbox, good start but it's fragging. Did you use a solderless install or did you somehow reuse the solder that was already filling the pinheads? Oooor did you empty out the pinheads, install the chip then resolder?

hey i had the same trouble with my spiderchip 1.1 and what i did that worked was took the motherboard out and then used a very thin needle to clean up the hole were the wire is supposed to be but make sure it's the smallest possible needle or you will make the hole too big and you dont want that . then i reinstalled the chip and it booted up perfectly . another thing you can check is to make sure your chip is making good contact if you did not tighten the screw good enough your chip is not fully making contact well i hope this helps you out man .

No offense against the creators of SpiderChips, but they are by far the worst chips to install. I've installed 5 of them to date, and the main problem with each one was, as soon as you tighten the screw...the chips moves off the pots. The screw hole is slightly offset, so it doesn't line up. The only way I was able to get each of them to work (flawlessly I might add) was to solder a wire from each pot on the mother board, to the coresponding hole (topside) of the SpiderChip. Then use tthe screw to hold it to the board and insert the wire into the D0. It's a pain in the ass to do, but it works, and no worries about the chip moving.
