Once visitting this site, we all want to mod our xbox to play "backup" games. But after downloading the xiso, what kind of DVD format is the best for the xbox DVD reader ? DVD+/-R or RW ? And which program is best to burn xiso ? Many people told me when ever i burn a Xbox game, i should have burn it at 2x or 4x. Is it true I shall not burn them at 16x ?

i don't think it matters which type of dvd you use, just burn on a DVD+R or DVD-R, i used cxboxtool and nero, i also burn at 4x, i think its better because you you burn at a faster peed its more likely to stuff up

exactly.. Burn slowly and then increase everytime to test..
Once you find out what the max speed you can burn you will be fine..
Just remember start of at 2x or 4x.. Even x if you can.. Some XBOX DVDROM drives are such bastards to get to read dvd-rs

I have a Phillips DVD drive, un-tweaked. It reads my Maxell DVD-R's with no problems, and I burn at 8x with Nero. I haven't yet backed up a game, so I wouldn't know the best app for that, but I assume since the tools are on the XBOX and I can transfer ISO's for safe keeping, that I could use Nero to burn them. Again, I haven't tried with backups, so don't quote me on that. Every one of my Data DVD's read just fine, though.
If it helps, I use Nero 6 Enterprise Edition on MS Windows XP Pro- x64 edition.

Hey yo, I just find out 1 more thing. Perhaps, it will appies to you too.
My xbox is 1.1 with a Samsung DVD drive. The DVD drive can read all the DVD-R, but it cannot read DVD+R. So I recomend to people who have Samsung DVD drive: Use DVD-R to burn your games on, Do not Use DVD+R. Of course You can use DVD-R, if your dreive can read it.

Iam having trouble playing backup games. I burn the games at 8x thats the lowest my DVD drive has. Then I use C-tools to make the ISO. When I put it on my modded xbox it wont boot it up. Also, dose the xbox boots .ISO or do we need to extract the .ISO and then burn it to a DVD?
Thanx

Hacked firmware for DVD drives = DVD-Rom booktypoe.
Works perfectly on my Samsung while DVD+R booktype didn't.
