You can also use a Molex splitter and hook a plain jane PC DVD drive up to the XBOX once its modded. It wont play retail discs but will play burned ones

yea softmodding is the eay to go, ive done 3 consoles so far. 2 i sold to family, one i have for myself. its awesome
