Yeah, sounds like a skipping on the disc. Try with a different brand and different type (+r, +rw etc). If still nothing and you're still hearing a ticking, contemplate replacing the drive.
Also, try burning the AID without any add-on in the ISO.

Hi,
To shorten my trial and error. Can someone advise me a few brands of the media which are successful? My xbox drive is thomson brand.
I also realised that the xbox dvd drive connector is different from normal computer dvd drive. what's the best way to use computer dvd drive to work in the xbox so that i can confirm whether is it my dvd drive not working?

Hey
Fujifilms are the way to go with recordable media, ill swear by them, my next favorite is memorex, those for dvds anyways, for cds i use ritek or ridata (same company)
and for pc drive, well the lasers are different, but some are the same (only like 1 or 2 certain drives) and they require a custom firmware, i would guess it would be the type of blank media your using though, another thing is out of a pack of 100 dvds i usually end up throwing away 5 because of bad burns or them just not working, so maybe try another copy

If you have a thompson just try maxell dvd-r, heard it works on alot of thompsons. Also, if your going to replace your drive just buy a used one from a xbox off ebay. _________________
