I had the same problem with my 1.6 xbox and SID 5.0. After softmod was done I got error codes that I was missing some ms dash files. I used SID 4 and installed the softmod flawlessly. I have since seen the SID 5.01 bug fix and will uninstall the softmod so I can retry with 5.01. SID 5 menus seemed more understandable, so I would prefer to use it for teaching friends how to install a softmod. I'll let you know if the problem is fixed in 5.01.
Yes there were many issues with 5.0, but I have hopefully sorted them all out for 5.01. FC has done some testing and has given it the thumbs up, and I've tested 5.01 a few times myself without and hickups.
SID 5.01 should be fine, DONT USE 5.0 however coz it is bugged.

I can confirm that SID 5.01 did indeed work this time. I think that the times I tried to use 5.0 may have corrupted my MS Dash files as I coudn't uninstall SID 4 correctly until I FTPed the MS Dash files back to my C drive. After I fixed that problem I was able to uninstall SID 4 and install 5.01.
Thank you so much DJB. If it weren't for easier tools like your SID and AID compliations I wouldn't have ventured into the wonderful world of xbox modding.
Hopefully my patronage of some of your advertisers shops will help pay the bills to keep this site up as long as possible.

Just to be clear, SID 5.01 is, as said previously, basically a bugfixed version of SID 5.
It should be used instead of SID 5, because 5.01 fixes the issues that were arising in version 5.
Version 5.01 has been tested by DJB and myself and to date, we have encountered no problems with this updated version. Tests have been done on all models of Xbox v1.0 - v1.6.
Now thats not a cast-iron guarantee that it will work on every single Xbox you ever try, cos everything is different, but it is an assurance that we think its the easiest to use, most up-to-date and reliable version of SID so far.

No probs DJB. I use SID 5.01 a lot and as I said, I've found no probs with it.
For members out there looking to use a version of SID for modding, I highly recommend a combo of SID 5.01 and AID 4.01.
Ok I am about to softmod my xbox but when I copy the game save to the mem card and put it in my xbox, i cant copy the game save to the hard drive. The only option that I get is to delete the game save from the memory card. Any ideas?

OK, anyway, is there the chance you didn't click on the save itself and instead just clicked on the tab? Wanna make sure? Scroll down to the save, then press right once so it's on the next file over and try it from there, it should work, otherwise, I don't know.

It happens a lot. People have the root selected instead of the actual save itself. Once you press right you'll be able to copy the save across.
