the ip posted above by hellblazer is a server farm located where it says and is mostly used not as hosting but as proxy service for websites and FTP sites, commonly you will get a reffer from reversed layed tech. Good proxy system but typicaly point to L3 IP. Odds are very good this person used a box on the L3 network behind the proxy ip listed. Dont get me wrong this does not make the person untrackable. Just untrackable to anyone who is not a federal agent with some serious warrents and a chit ton of time to spend on a kid. No dice finding this idealog.
As for mad skills.: Not hardly it doesent not take much to down a site that uses vb or php fourms. Although more known(published) exploits are out for php dont think vbfoumrs are safe either. Face it they are easy to brute force unless a HT style hitbox is used to discourage brute force attepts. Hell with software these days passive brute force is the way to get into anything, no anti-hammering triggers
Forahobby for the amount of time and number of sites you run your the man, just keep up those updates bro

thanks for your advice hellstorm.. Im no network guru anymore even though i used to do networking for a living about 10 years back lol.. Im more of a programmer now and have lost touch with security etc..
I certainly learned alot about XSS and other new hacks available over the past few days/week.. I have to admit that our site has hardly any phpnuke code left really..
Only the forums are the main killer but we are hopefully all patched again ready to go.
