ya go here http://www.x-b-o-x.net/modules/mydownloads/ and scroll down to the ms dashboard. you have to be registerd but its free of course. and after your registered just click on the link and download it directly from there web and unrar it with win rar (duh).. yup no torrents, irc, ftps or any of theat other alternative crap. after you got the files just follow that tutorial you sent me earlier and it should work.. however i needed to put in starwars battlefront to completely finish off everything tho.. so if you can find a game with the dashboard update youll be all set i had to try it a few times because every time id get to the part where it starts to read your xbox it would say its been locked.. what worked for me however was putting a dvd game in and waiting for the microsoft logo to show up and then umpluging the IDE cable.. (the one on the tutorial said to umplug the dvd player to make it unlocked, but that didnt work for me).. anyways it took me like ten times befor i finally got it to work.. so if it doesnt work on the first time.. try again

oh ya and about the win app i tried it.. and i was able to access the partitions and put he files in right. but it would show up with the same message 13 after id boot it back up .. however i never tried putting the starwars battlefront in afterwards so i could have had it done correctly the whole time and just never tried putting the starwars battle front dash update in.. so try both and see which one works for you

incidentally, if you wrecked the softmod then you would not be able to boot the AID as the M$ bios will not boot unsigned code. Either a hacked bios or dash are required to boot this type of disc, so no there was prob nothing wrong with the disc itself
