XBOX - 1 X-CHIP COMBO is the chip i purschased. I am not sure if it is live but it supports 1.1-1.6 so i guess it probably does.

I believe the combo just means it came with a programmer. It's good that it works with version 1.6. Have you found out what version your xbox is? You really should know prior to putting the chip in as different version require extra procedures.

Two Things; Where are all these tutorials, I need to learn some information about this stuff. And Second; this is the website I got it from: http://www.easybuy2000.com/store/xbox/x-chip.shtml . It contains some links, one is an installer for the X-Chip. I Bought that combo w/ the adaptor. I was reading their forums for the help section and many people asked does Live work and many anwsered yes. I also think it is solderless so thats a big +. Also if you want to play on xbox live you boot it on the regular microsoft BIO. Can someone explain what BIO stands for? Also link the tutorials and places where i should get some other BIOS. I heard a lot from this Evox Bio, so i think that one should be get. realmccloy, once I get my Mod-Chip Ill hit you up on ICQ, Aim or msn so I can get live help. Thanks.

BIO is bios..they just forgot to type the s at the end.
If you become a VIP member here, you can gain access to any bios available. Your X Chip will come preflashed with the Cromwell bios
The Cromwell is a "Legal" bios. It's only purpose is to allow the modchip to boot. It will only let you play original xbox games, no backups.
The Xecuter2 4983.67 bios is a good bios and we have it here in our VIP download section. As a matter of fact, it is already included into a bios.bin CD that you can download and use to flash your new modchip. Very easy, no worries.
If you go to our tutorial section on this site, you will find some basic tutorials like Glossary of terms for newbies, Evolution X for dummies, and some bios flashing tutorials. We probably don't have any specific to your X Chip so you are most likely going to need to do a google search. I'll see what I can dig you up too.
As far as booting so you can play xbox live, what it may be is this. If you just turn your xbox on it loads the MS Bios. If you boot your xbox and hold a certain button in for a period of time, it will boot off of the modchip and load the hacked bios. Like I said, I have no X Chip experience. Hopefully someone here has used that chip and can tell you. The little reading I have done on it tells me it's not a bad chip at all. Seems fine to me.
