I have another modded xbox that I bought 2nd hand 6 months ago and the memory card came with it. I searched for an image of the memory card online and found this link http://us.codejunkies.com/news_reviews.asp?c=US&cr=USD&cs=$&r=0&l=1&i=7123&p=8&s=8. So it seems that this is an action replay memory card. I didnīt get the pc usb connector with the memory card though. Iīve been using my modded xbox to transfer the splinter cell gamesaves to the memory card. Is there a known problem with this type of memory cards? Should I try to get hold of an original xbox memory card or maybe some other brand?

I use Action Replay and the Microsoft memory cards. Both have worked wonderfully when transferring from one xbox to another, so your problem lies elsewhere.
I haven't really been following the posts too much, but if you're using UnleashX as your dashboard, make sure that you're using the game saves manager to transfer the save files and not the file explorer. This could keep you from losing any data... _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
if your using an action replay i would imagine you would have to put them on as zip files as I believe this is how action replay seems to work but im not 100% sure as i use AR but have the connector.
I might be wrong as AR might unzip the files as it puts them on the card but the saves it had in its database and that you download are certainly all ZIP files.
Incidentley, if your buying an AR id open it in the shop before you leave, that horrible packaging means they dont have a 16 day guarantee in places like Argos (UK), i opened my first one and there was no usb connector in it ! so be wary

Hey guys, I am trying to use SID 4 and it locks up when I try to backup the EEPROM. It just displays the SID 4 menu with Loading... Please Wait..
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Very weird, can you run it if you lauch it manually?
Using File Manager from SID 4, you can browse to E:\UDATA\21585554\000000000000\ and lauch evox.xbe from there. _________________ Xbox v1.1

Iīve finally managed to softmod my xbox after many hours of frustration. I decided to share my solution as I know there are probably others that will have bad results with their memory cards. I built myself a usb to xbox cable using the wire and connector from an old disabled gamepad, I cut the wire on the gamepad and used some wire joints to join it together to a usb female port that I got from a motherboard usb extension that I had lying around, pretty easy as all the wires are the same colors on both cables, except the xbox gamepad has an additional yellow wire (which I believe is used for light guns) and you just skip connecting that one. Then I followed this guide almost step by step, the only part I didnīt have to do was step 2.2, but that was probably because I used this hacked version of the action replay software. I used the Splinter Cell files from the SID 4 to do the soft modding. I do hope that this helps people that have problems with launching the softmod. I for one was extremely happy to finally see the EvoX menu come up when I turned on my soft-modded xbox

I'm happy you got this cleared up, and I'm glad it's just the memory card, and not something bigger.
Enjoy SID 4. _________________ Xbox v1.1

OK, I hope this question gets answered, because I believe it got lost days ago in a previous post. Why is it that when I reboot from Avalaunch, UnleashX or some emulators - that when the Xbox reboots to the default dashboard there is a green LED instead of an red one? If I power down and back up. everything is fine again. Is it safe to run under green LED condition after a reboot from previous dashboard?

Fix Avalaunch to have RED led not green.
The reason whey it boots to GREEN before going to RED, it's cause when you do the reboot, it's based on power cycle, so the xbox returns to retail, before it loads xboxdash.xbe to then load fonts and nkpatcher, when nkpatcher is loaded that's when the led goes RED.
Hope this gets some stuff answered, and sorry if i missed the post you mentioned, but I know have a more bussy life, and it's hard for me to come to forums alot. _________________ Xbox v1.1

I am using spluintercell and can copy over and boot the SID4 menu fine. i have run the MS backup and EEPROM backup and they both work perfectly. My first issue is that it reports my xbox as "NTSC M" at the bottom of the menu, even though my xbox is a PAL UK model. when i run the install, whether i select NTSC or PAL, single or dual boot, it seems to run through perfectly. at the end it tells me to reboot with no disk, which i do. when i reboot i get the the final installation part, which i proceed with. i then reboot again, and it boots to the clock settings of the normal dashboard, and then back to the normal dash, as if nothing had happened! no matter how many times i resore backup and try to install again the same thing happens!
I have FTP access through SID4 menu, and can see all the files.
help me please!

Th issues about SID 4 on pal xboxes has been disccused alot, but here's your fix.
*If SID 4 is already installed Skin the install part*
1.- Boot SID 4 from game to gamesave hack.
2.- Install your softmod method of choice, forget if it's pal or ntsc, choose any.
3.- After all has been installed and the eeprom patching has been completed, simply use the built-in file explorer/Manager to navigate to C:\, and delete the file called C:\eeprom.bin, and it will not have virtual eeprom that causes the issue on video mode.
How ever your xbox is now vunerable to be unlock by apps, so make sure you know what your doing.
also wait for SID 4.5 if your not sure about doing this. _________________ Xbox v1.1

Boot with the game you softmodded with, launch the softmod installer, then go to the file manager, you'll see the actual C drive. He posted that a while ago, lol. Good luck, m8 _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
