Hey everyone. I just got my first modded xbox. ANd I know NOTHING about NOn of this stuff on my Xbox, except it looks like some fun. I've heard that some people have fried their chips or something or another. Is there some basic rules I should follow to make sure I keep it working fine and not Screw up anything or fry my mod chip? I have a xecutener 2 chip and a 160 gb hd on it. Evox and some other stuff loaded on there. Also HOw do I turn off the mod chip when I go to xbox live?

I think it's safe to say that you need help...lol Don't worry you came to the right place. First, check to see exactly what you have. There are quite a bit of tutorials here that you can use. But THIS one is probably the one you'll use the most.

Did you buy it somewhere and if so is it a softmod or chipped?
You've got to know more in the unlikely event that something happens due to things like power fluxes that are out of your control. What dashboard is on the box?

Ok, I bought the system from someone online. This is what he did to the xbox, and I dont know what any of this means. You have an Xbox 1.1. Maxtor 160 ata 133 7200 rpm. Bios Xecuter2 4981.
I flashed the tsop. The on board bios. No mod chip. Dashboard
evolutionx 3935.

You have gotten yourself a nice little settup there.. The X2 modchips are very reliable so you should be fine.. Also, Its so much easier to recover from any errors using the AIDeluxe too.
Since you dont know alot im glad you have a modchip as with a softmod its just too easy to break..

I agree Forahobby, the X2 chips are very reliable I still have my X2 as a backup for my Xenium, that chip has been running strong for almost 2 years!!! Nice Setup _________________ Xbox V1.3

He has a tsop flash, no modchip. The xecuter 2 he's referring to is his bios. Welcome to the site Chandrez, just browse around the forums and read through some of the tutorials to get yourself aquainted to the whole modding scene and you should have no problems. AND, if you ever do run into any problems, just post a forum topic about it and someone will respond to it very quickly, best site around for modding! _________________ XBOX v1.6c
