Last dumb question of the day, I promise.. lol
Can the original xbox IDE cable be changed with an ata 100 IDE cable and will it make much of a difference?

Yes you can, and it makes the loading/transfer times 25% faster. Thats about all it does. _________________

the ATA header on the xbox is only ata33 so an ATA100 cable wont make any difference. The IDE data bus is the restrictive component

I have replaced the cable on 3 occasions (was only replacement cables I had laying around) and noticed no speed/performance increase at all. I did however notice that when using the ata100 with Xenium/no dvd rom combo only, it would often lock up..... Thought this was odd, so tried it on 2nd box, and had same results..... Ive worked with electronics for some time, I cant understand why this would happen, but it did in My case. _________________ XENIUM ICE 300GIG CUSTOM DVD
