I was going through some old software the other day and found acouple of goodies. I dunno if you guys ever played Rise of the Triad or Shadow Warrior but they're both great games. I was wondering how I could go about porting them to Xbox. I have the xbox version of Doom and I would love to be able do the same to these old school shooters. If anyone knows of a tutorial on how I could do this hook me up with a link. _________________

if they are old dos games then you could try using a dos emulator like dosbox to play. Without the code i assume it would be hard to port a game to xbox, though i guess you could write a clone if you've the time. Either way, good luck!

The dos emulator seems alittle buggy to me. I havent messed around with the xbox version but when i tried the pc version it was a pain to getting working right. _________________

I used dosbox on winCE and it was also a little buggy, bochs was a little better, but useless for games. Cant comment on the xbox versions though. You could try getting the games for a different system, if any is available, like the amiga or the atari st and use emulators.
I would also appreciate any links to tutorials on this subject if anyone knows any as i would REALLY like to compile jjffe (Elite III directx port) with the openXDK, but don't really know where to begin. Currently reading everything i can find!

Man, Rise of the Triad is an absolutely amazing game!
I had it for the PC. Reminded me very much of a slightly better-graphiced Doom II. I loved it!!
RoTT. Man, that brings back memories. _________________

I have a ported version of Shadow Warrior. Lemmie see if I can find a link for you.
(Man, I guess that this means this wouldn't be the place to look for help trying to alter that port. I still want to redo the controls, figure out network play, and get it to run the WD pack...)
...
K, I asked my brother where he found all those homebrew games, and he says "#xbins in mirc." That sounds to me like the same place you found ROTT (It's where I found ROTT) so check back there. The program was just called "xShadow" so it can be ignored if you're not looking for it.
It does require you to obtain your own copy of the sw.grp file, so it doesn't infringe upon copyright laws, but it works great. The only thing is that the 3D sprites won't work if you're using the newfangled "Polymost engine."

Since both rise of the triad and shadow warrior have been converted, does anyone know of a conversion for "wacky wheels?"
