i can't get my box working at all. i bought a new seagate 300gb hdd for it. i do have my eeprom. it's a v1.6 xbox. can i use the c: and e: from an older xbox and just replace the eeprom with mine.

sorry guys, have spent many hours trying to fix and got very frustrated.
i think it's a v1.6. i used sid v2.0 and the 007 to softmod. after i put the exploit on the box i installed the mod before i backedup my xbox. but i didn't ftp the info to pc untill i started having problems with box freezing.mistake, i know. anyway, box worked fine for about 2 months untill someone ejected a movie while it was playing. the box then started freezing all the time untill the point it wouldn't even boot. i have since bought a new 300gb seagate hdd. i now have the fan turned up. when i write my info to the new hdd, it also freezes. guessing cause i waited to late to save my info. would like to get fixed back to normal so i can use the new ndure softmod. hell i would like to just get it fixed period.

Sounds to me like your old hdd is shot and that you need a chip
A chip will let you run the xbox even with the unlocked new hdd.. from there, just use AID3 to prep the new drive, and lock it if you wish. _________________ OTB Mods.com

so even if i have corrupt data on the drive, a modchip will fix my box. caus it don't matter what drive i use, everytime i put my backup on it, it either freezes or just won't boot.

well when u started to ftp ur info did u backup somthing called :
eeprom.bin ? if u transferd ur eeprom then u can make ur new hd to work with ur current xbox...
but yea a modchip always overwrites anything ... of course that hd wouldnt work if it doesnt work...
but before u go on to mod chips... u can also try hotswaping ur hd , most likely 99% this is fixed throught hotswap... but if u grabed ur eeprom then ur good ...... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Correct me if I'm wrong but, it sounds like your box works but it has freezing issues, and it is soft-modded with SID 2.
If this is the case you can just download The AID 3.0 disk, burn it and boot it in your Xbox. Then you can rebuild your drive with new softmods and everything. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

box will power on and goes through the big green blob sceen but freezes on the big X. it won't play any games at all. yes i do have my eeprom. can i use the files of and older xbox and put them in mine. if not, where can i get a complete set of files for a v1.6 box.

if u have ur eeprom then ur saved ....
get a diffrent hd then upgrade it and lock it with the eeprom u have and ur xbox should work fine....
use xboxhdm1.9

yes i'm sure it's my eeprom. i do have a new seagate 300gb hdd. the problem is i don't have any files to put on the new drive. i thought xboxhdm used the files you put into c and e to build a new drive. i lost all my xbox files except my eeprom.

no worries... find pirrup under his sig... look for a file called ms-c and u put that on xboxhdm1.9 on C folder ... eeprom on eeprom folder and u can leave E folder empty... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

k, i got the file ms-c from pirrup. i put them in c: and my eeprom in the eeprom folder. ran xboxhdmv1.9, unlocked drive with eeprom, wiped partition, create new hdd from scratch, write was successful, locked hdd with eeprom. xbox still won't go past the big X. is it possible that my hdd was never the problem. cause i never turned my fan up untill now. when my box first started freezing, i could let it sit for awhile and then it would work fine. then it got to the point to where i had to let it sit for days before it would work. i have another box i can use for parts if i need to.
