I have a v 1.0 softmodded xbox with SID 4.5 installed.
my question is, can i use xboxhdm 1.9 to set up a new 300 gig HD with the MS dashboard to use in my xbox?

i have the eeprom backup on my pc, and wasn't sure it this would work. I just want the xbox to be completely stock, unmodded...with the 300 gig HD installed.

strange, i know....but i have my reasons...Wink

PS, i don't want to hotswap, i just want to set it up with my pc using xboxhdm 1.9 and the eeprom backup...is that possible?

I am still new to this ( as if you can't tell )

Yes it's possible. Just put the eeprom where it needs to go ( \xboxhdm\linux\eeprom\ ) and create the iso. Boot up xboxhdm and select to build the hdd from scratch. Then lock it to your eeprom.

Note- the hdd jumper needs to be on Master when you build it. Once it's finished change it to Cable Select.

I have gotten more good info here in the last 2 days than anywhere else in the past month!!

Thanks again..

One more thing, Does upgrading the IDE cable to an 80 conductor cable do very much? i read elsewhere that it can boost speed of hard-drive and dvd rom drive.
