I hope this is the right section for this, because it relates to softmodding.

Ok, so I installed the softmod(splinter cell) onto the c drive of my hard drive and made a backup of the original files. Then I put some file onto the C drive using a FTP program. Then I changed the xbox setting, I am using Evolution X, so that the DHCP is now changed to static. I accessed the xbox via a network, not a crossover, and now I can't access the xbox hard drive using FTP, and when I boot my xbox it says "Service Required...". I know that one of the file I put on the C drive is what is causing the problem, and I need to remove it, so if anyone has any ideas, please help me out. I have tryed hotswaping the drive to my Windows XP computer, but it could not find it. I have also tried FTP using the original IP address and a crossover cable, so if you can tell me what I am doing wrong, or what else I can do I would really appreciate the help.

If this is in the wrong section, please put it where it belongs.

I'd say you're in the right section but we need to know what error code it's throwing out. That tends to tell us a lot.

The hotswap requires xboxhdm linux application. When you boot off of the xboxhdm cd it boot linux instead of Windows.

In the top left hand corner of the screen it says "07" for the error number. I think that the xbox is confused because it has foreign files in the operating system. Thanks for your help so far though.
