I accidently formatted my E:/ Drive so mu backup of the ms dash and all my game saves including my splinter cell saves that load up the softmod, now i tried to re-install the original dash using a slayer installer disk and it installed but now when i turn it on it says my xbox needs service. How can i fix it? i can still play original games games. am getting the error number 21.

Try Pirrup's hot swap. It might work. Go to the link below.

I'm not a softmod fanatic but I assume since you say you can play retail games that you have a M$ dash? If true, then it might work to install a dash back on E if that's where you had it to begin with,otherwise try to install the dash on C.
Here is a guy with almost the same issues and some answers.

problem is that my xbox does not have the softmod linux files on the hdd now as they got deleated, is there any other way i can load saves on the xbox hdd from the memory card? then i can fix it for sure.

i have wrestlemania 21 retail version, will this not update the dash and somehow repair it??

Have you tried using AID 2.11 to install the ms dash?

is ther not a game i can use which allows access to the game saves? that way i will be able to put the splinter cell saves on the HDD and soft mod the console again, i really do not want to open my console or my pc.

I don't know of any. I've tried to access the game saves from a memory unit with no success. You'll have to go with the hotswap. At least you didn't unlock you harddrive....I hope. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

no i didnt unlcok my HDD, ok i wos reading the instructions to the hot swap program it says somthing about the HDD key which i have no idea what it is. Also i have a pal xbox where can i download the original msdash from?? thank btw guys i really appriciate the help, i just might sign up to vip if i can get my xbox up again lol.
