I soft modded my xbox, using splinter cell.
1 how do i uninstall what i just did
2. is there ANY way to play online without getting banned, with the box soft modded.
3 if not, if i uninstalled the soft mod everytime i wanted to play online, and reinstalled when i wasnt playing on line, would that work, and how do i uninstall like asked in Q 1

i think you can just throw in the AID disc and format it all and reinstall the M$ dash. not sure if thats exactly what you need to do. might want to wait for someone that knows for sure bfore you format it though

i used the splinter cell exploit myself and it seems very easy to uninstall, just power on your xbox with the eject button instead of the power button, this loads the install menu which providing you made a backup when you installed the mod should allow you to restore the original dash.
I havent tried using live with this xbox yet though so i dont know if you need to remove all the extra files too, like the linux installer and all other software you have installed

If you didn't do what the dude just said then funky's advice is right on the money. So both are right, it just depends on whether you actually backed up the original m$ dash before installing the hacked dash.

No you can not go on live with it softmodded and no you dont have to delete all the extra files on your harddrive. LIVE servers dont check that they just check what bios your running 9M$ or a hacked one) and the size of your hard drive to make sure its the same hdd to mobo configuration when the box originally went online. _________________ Blue Chaos

what if u transfer your live account to another xbox, even if it is not modded, it might have a different hdd (8gb or 10 gb version) does that mean you still might get banned? _________________ XBOX v1.4

i think you can cold boot the game and play xbox live with out getting banned(its just what i've heard), but i don't know, just try it and tell us what happens..........

well iv got my live account on three different unmodded boxes, as have two of my m8s, so we can play live without using guest accounts and we havent been banned, but im not sure what version xbox they have or what sise hdd, my live box is v1.4 and wih=th 8 gb hdd _________________ XBOX v1.4
