I got xBox as present already chipped and modded. It has SlaYers Evolution Dashboard and 200GB disk. It also had a number of Apps (Avalaunch, Boxplorer,XBMC,DVD2Box Dongle Free etc.)
I seemed to have duplications of folders on drives called video and music so thought it best to delete these using Boxplorer to tidy it up and make it easier to navigate. I accidentally deleted the Apps folder on the F: drive which of course deleted all of my Apps.

My one experience of installing Apps is that I loaded up a precompiled XBMC using FlashFXP and edited the exvox.ini file to include this in my dashboard menu.

So is it that simple that I just need to find the appropriate Apps then drop them into the Apps folder and ensure that these are referenced in the exvox.ini file?

The other option seems to be to go for some kind of auto Installer but I have LOTS of games and video and don't want to risk fromatting the HDD whilst using an Auto Installer.

I don't want to do no rocket science blazing Apps at the moment, just play video using XBMC and be able to manage files etc. The SlaYers dashboard is fine (but with the missing Apps greyed out in the menu) and Games can be run fine too.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Ginge

you can download the apps you want separately and ftp them to the APPS folder on either e:\ or f:\ partition (the partition that your apps were on oryginally) .....or

you can download the autoinstaller and install the apps from there ,

you dont have to format the harddrive if u dont want to ,

there are also options to format any partition that you want ,
so you can format c:\ and e:\ then reinstall the msdash and a hacked dash of your choise ....plus the apps if those were on the e:\ part.

That's really useful stuff. On this site I seem to see two Autoinstallers, one for SlayerS Dragon and the other for the "Auto Installer". I seem to have a SlaYers dashboard. Will either do for me as I am only loading Apps?

Can I burn these to a CD rather than DVD?

Thanks Again

use the autoinstaller ... the applications on it are more up to date,

u can burn it on a cd without the roms and the dummy file but you have to extract the iso then delete the files then recreate xbox iso ,

its better to just burn the iso that you download if ur not sure what u r doing

if u dont have a dvd burner then just download the apps u need and ftp them , thats the easy way
